Driver Improvement Program

$100.00 CASH ~ IN PERSON ONLY

The Driver Improvement Program (DIP) is a 3-hour instructional program that is intended to provide driver rehabilitation. You may have been assigned to the driver improvement program for variety of reasons: 

• You were referred by a Judge;
• You accumulated 5, 6, or 7 points on your driving record;
• You were convicted or granted probation before judgment for a moving violation while holding a provisional driver’s license.

We offer this class IN PERSON ONLY. The cost of the course is $100.00 CASH ($10.00 processing fee for electronic payments). All drivers in need of this service MUST PRE-REGISTER here on our website or by calling us at 301-390-1111.

On the day of class participants should bring their referral letter and a valid government issued ID. Participants may choose to take this course voluntarily without a referral; we will require you to sign a waiver form which states that you do not have a referral letter from MVA.

If you are a new to our state and want to apply for a Maryland driver’s license you must complete the 3-hour alcohol and drug education program before you can receive the license if you:

• currently possess a driver's license from another country.
• currently possess an Armed Forces License only.

Note that persons who currently possess a driver’s license from another state in the United States, a U.S. territory, Canada or the Yukon territory do not have to attend this program.

On the day of class participants should bring their unexpired license and an alternate form of ID.
